GET INVOLVED!

Together in Mission

Together in Mission is joint team with members from Nativity as well as Cross & Crown Lutheran, which organizes and sponsors the congregation’s outreach into the community. We live out our calling to be Christ in the world by recognizing OUR need to be active and present with those most marginalized in our community and by serving the people God loves.  We have many opportunities to get involved and we support ministries locally as well as abroad—we encourage all our members to be a part of this work!

OUR MISSIONS & PARTNERS
REACH

Nativity is an active member of REACH (Renton Ecumenical Association of Churches), an umbrella organization that works mutually with local churches, agencies, and government. Together we help our community respond to local needs, including the needs of the homeless, hungry, unemployed, under-employed, and ill.

Renton Meal Coalition

The Renton Meal Coalition helps to provide and serve food to the hungry in our community, including men from ARISE and women and children from Center of Hope, two local shelters.

CROP Walk

Be part of Renton’s yearly fundraising walk each May and raise funds to relieve hunger both locally and world-wide!

Renton Food Bank

Nativity helps stock the shelves at the Renton Salvation Army Food Bank by receiving donations of non-perishable food year-round.

Living Waters

Living Waters collects donations of loose change each Sunday to help build water projects both near and far.  Your input is needed to help decide where to disburse funds!

Sock it to Homelessness

Every fall, Nativity collects socks for homeless men to keep their feet warm during the winter months.

REACH Center of Hope

A women's and children's day-or-night shelter in Renton.  Volunteers prepare lunches, read and play with children (so mothers can actively pursue jobs or permanent homes), and provide a responsible “go-to person” at the night shelter.

Mtoni Deaconic Center

A not-for-profit, non-governmental organization striving to empower and give opportunities to mentally handicapped children in Tanzania. This center is Nativity’s outreach internationally, which we've supported through our Lenten donations for several years.

Season of Sharing

During the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays, we collect monetary donations to help local agencies feed homeless and needy men, women and children.

Blessing Bag Ministry

We pack large Ziploc bags with nonperishable food, water bottles, hygiene items and other small necessities for those who are homeless or otherwise in need.  Blessing Bags are made available to the Congregation for a small suggested donation which supports the ministry.  We encourage people to keep a bag or two in their vehicles to give to anyone in need they encounter throughout their day!
