Pastor Bob Lewis

 

Pastor Bob Lewis is a native of Portland, Oregon, where he attended grade and high school, and was a member of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church on the southeast side.  He majored in communications (television production sequence) at Washington State University in Pullman, graduating in June 1983 with a B.A. cum laude in communications.

 

During the 1980’s Pastor Bob was employed in the broadcast equipment rental and facilities industry.  At BERC of Burbank, CA, he served as rentals manager, working in areas of sales and production with clients such as NBC Sports, ABC 1984 Summer Olympics, and the "TV Bloopers and Practical Jokes" show.  In October 1985, Pastor Bob was hired as the first employee of Modular Video Systems (now Bexel Corporation ) in Seattle, where he was the director of sales and marketing.

 

In 1989, Pastor Lewis entered seminary, first spending one year at the Lutheran School of Theology at Chicago, then transferring to Luther Northwestern Theological Seminary in St. Paul, Minnesota.  He served his pastoral internship at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

 

Pastor Bob graduated from Luther Seminary and was ordained in 1994.  He has served in four calls prior to Nativity.  First was a term call to the Knox Lutheran Parish, two small rural congregations in northwestern Pennsylvania which have since closed.  At First Lutheran Church of Ellicott City, Maryland (suburban Baltimore-Washington) Pr. Bob was associate pastor for youth and family ministry.  From Maryland Pastor Bob and his wife Pastor Kathleen Anderson were called as co-pastors of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Rockville Centre, Long Island, New York.  Immediately prior to moving to Renton, Pastor Bob served as associate pastor at Glenwood Lutheran Church in Glenwood, Minnesota from March 2000 until August 2004.

 

Pastor Bob and Pastor Kathleen Anderson were married in March 1987.  Kathleen is a certified interim minister of the Northwest Washington Synod of the ELCA, currently serving at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Mercer Island.  They reside in Renton.
