Pr. Bob will be at the Byberg Preaching Conference in Issaquah Tuesday, January 31 and Wednesday, February 1, as part of his yearly continuing education plan.
We welcome Pr. Scott Postlewait from Lutheran Campus Ministry at the University of Washington, Seattle to worship and the Adult Education hour this Sunday. LCM/UW is one of our congregation’s benevolences; Kay Edgerton of the LCM board will present our 2012 pledge of $1000 to Pr. Scott today at 10:30 worship.
Next Sunday, January 15, at 10.30 am the Sudanese Choir from Kent Lutheran Church will be with us, to lead us in worship and song, and to tell us about their upcoming trip to South Sudan to help build water projects and a school. (Nativity people have contributed to both projects through donations to Living Waters and shoes given to the Shoe Drive.) It will be a powerful morning of Word and worship – be sure to be part of it!

Worship at Nativity is as diverse as the community that gathers each week. Though we do worship in a liturgical (ordered) format, we use different musical settings, such as Evangelical Lutheran Worship, Holden Evening Prayer, Now the Feast and Celebration, and different spoken liturgies. We sing hymns and songs from many different sources … our Lutheran heritage, other denominations, and newer songs of worship and praise.
Music is an important part of our worship life. We enjoy singing in many different styles of music which support our liturgical worship service. Hymns and songs are printed in the bulletins to aid in congregational participation. Our Adult Choir sings every week at 10.30 worship. Our music director Steve Nehrenberg is a regionally known composer who blesses us with his own original musical works for choir and congregation. Instrumentalists enhance worship through their leadership and musical offerings.
We are a lively and diverse community. We come from many different places and faith backgrounds. We are of different ages and cultural origins. We have varied careers, hobbies and interests.
If you are interested in helping the church, or participating in one of Nativity's many events; don't be afraid. Jump on in! Nativity has many volunteer duties such as doing readings or providing fellowship. If you want to help the church just ask! There is always something you can do.
