Nativity’s education hour is from 9 to 10 am every Sunday from September through May.
Beginning October 8, 2006, our Sunday School program will have a new look. Adult and senior high (grades 9-12) will continue to meet each Sunday at 9:00 a.m., sometimes combining classes for special events. All other ages will meet just once a month for an intergenerational education event, complete with music, stories, games, and art activities. All ages (toddler through grandparent) are welcome at these monthly events.
For those high school students and adults who prefer the traditional class setting, regular adult education classes will continue to be offered on those Sundays. We will be starting this schedule on October 8, 2006 and continuing with the intergenerational events on the first Sunday of each month, at least through the spring 2007. Those Sundays will be October 8, 2006, November 5, 2006, December 3, 2006, January 7, 2007, February 4, 2007, March 4, 2007, and April 1, 2007,. We look forward to participating with our youth as they join us on our faith journeys. We hope to see you there!
Adults meet in the Fellowship Room for a variety of studies and discussions.
Pastor Bob Lewis and others regularly lead these lively, interesting sessions.
We’ve covered topics as diverse as books of the Bible, human sexuality, Martin
Luther, and proposed revisions to the Lutheran hymnals.
Nativity also offers other educational opportunities during the year.
Each summer, Vacation Bible School regularly offers a fun-filled week of
learning and activities to Nativity youth and adults, as well as people from the
Fairwood community, in an intergenerational setting.
Pastor Bob offers a “Third Thursday” Bible study based on the “Lutheran Women
Today” studies for each month. We gather for coffee and tea, study and
fellowship each month on the Third Thursday at 10 am.
Confirmation classes are offered yearly from September to April. Youth and
Pastor Bob explore the Bible and the Small Catechism, and how they relate to us
today.
